About Asvin's Art &
life
When I begin a painting there is a germ of an idea
or a bit of a plan, but I soon am taken in and directed by the work. It
expands and develops spontaneously as I interact with the materials.
Aquarelle satisfies my need to work quickly and compulsively, while
pastels, gouache and oil on canvas, gives me diversity in my
explorations. On some of my paintings I use mixed media to add some
freshness and a sence of mystery to the work.
As a celibate engineer, my life was split between a very consuming job
and the daily hangout (and hangover!) with my buddies, which left me with
quite restricted time for whatever hobbies or sports.
Since I did not take any formal instruction course in art, I spent most
of my time learning from books and the internet. You would be really amazed
of the vast amount of resources available for the novice!
Biography
I was born in 1976, spent my early childhood in a village called Tyack,
next to a sugarcane field, near my grandparents' house. I lived most of
my life at Roches Brunes, at my parents'.
Education & employment
I hold a degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering. I have
worked as assistant manager in a commercial company, then joined
somewhere else as project & sales engineer.
At one time I had started a business - Swift Alarm Services
- dealing in the import and installation of alarm systems and CCD surveillance
cameras.
